Break out the wool sweaters, Winter Quarter is here

Teachers Wanted for Summer Quarter

Hello, friends!  We are really late getting the word out about teaching during winter quarter.  The deadline for new classes is coming up fast on June 7th.  So maybe spend a few minutes today submitting your class.  What have you been thinking of teaching others?

FREE SKOOL TEACHERS WANTED

A radically different approach to living and learning, Free Skool Santa Cruz is a grassroots educational project beyond institutional control. It is an opportunity to learn from each other and share what we know, to foster communities of mutual support and autonomy. The project strives to blur the lines between teacher, learner, and organizer. Free Skool is decentralized, with classes held in homes, social spaces, and parks.  Do you have unique skills and knowledge? Are you willing to share what you know?

If you have a class idea that focuses on self-reliance, community, do-it-yourself culture, and creating a new and beautiful world, propose it to us.

Submit your classes with our online form.

Free Skool Winter Quarter runs July 1st to September 30th.  The Free Skool teacher registration deadline is June 7th. We will not calendar classes after this date.

Winter Calendars for me and for you

Whoa.  Winter Quarter, here it comes.

We've completed the new calendar and just sent it off to print.  The paper version should be available for distro by October 30 and the electronic version is available now!

We're all really excited about the great amount of warmth and energy being put into Free Skool through the cold winter months.

Thanks to everyone who has donated money to help printing costs.  Thanks to everyone who came to the Free Skool benefit show and the talented folks who played music with us.  Thanks to everyone who has put time and energy into putting together this quarter's calendar.

We create this project together and we have a whole lot to look forward to.

Love,
Free Skool Santa Cruz

Calendars out very soon

From the Free Skool trenches:  The new free skool calendar will be out very very soon.  We've been working diligently since Oct 7th and it is off to Black Powder Press for printing TODAY!  You will receive a link to the online version very soon. This is our big deal-- three times a year, we produce the calendar. Six members in the collective, local artists and numerous teachers create a calendar with 70 classes or so.  That's 238 individual class sessions over three months.  Woo!

We will be distributing the paper calendar at the Wednesday Down Town Farmer's Market in two weeks, so please join us there to pick up calenders for you and your friends.
